Zelma and William McIntire on their Wedding Day

This picture is of Grandma Starich's parents on their wedding day. Here is the story from Zelma's personal history:
"Will took it for granted from the first that he was going to get me. He didn't seem to worry about my other beaus. In the spring of 1909, after a two year courtship, we planned to get married and talked of Temple marriage. However, Will was never sustained an Elder, so we decided to get married and not tell anyone. At 2:00 in the afternoon, June 17, 1909, Will and I went to the courthouse in Price, bought our license and were married by Judge Woods.... At 5:00 we boarded the train to Salt Lake where we stayed overnight and then went on to Logan for our honeymoon. Grandma McIntire made us feel welcome and we stayed with her for one week. We returned to Price and moved into the rear rooms of the McIntire home, located on Carbon Avenue just south of the railroad tracks. We never had a wedding reception but my parents gave us our first new sewing machine as a wedding gift."

That is a good story. I love that my grandparents were so real and honest in their relationship with life. It makes me feel like I do belong to the clan.
