Happy Grandparents Day!

Keep your face to the sun and the shadows will always fall behind you!
I am so happy to have a grandma I can visit. She loves me and I love her... isn't that wonderful! --Sue

My Sister

Some Good Memories!

Sharing a smile!

My big sister. My mentor.

A pretty teenager in her pedal pushers. She was up on fashion. We had some fun times on Hampton Avenue.

I remember her as highly intelligent and talented and beautiful. She was complex and interesting and sensitive. Even as a young child, she had well thought out opinions about life. She was selective in her choices in art and music, books, and friendships. She was a mentor as she taught me to look for more in my life. Thank you Beverly! I love you!

I remember Mom....

I remember Mom...

Making these dinners:
  • Chicken and dumplings (made with Bisquick)
  • Stuffed Green Peppers (Dad loved these)
  • Spaghettini with Green Sauce (I have the recipe)
Taking us to ballet and tap lessons with Bene' Arnold, then sometimes stopping at the Burger Chalet after for a special treat. (make your own burgers and sundaes)

Driving us to Ice Skating lessons at Hygeia Ice in Sugarhouse.

Sunbathing in the backyard to get a nice tan.

Sleeping late and me knowing not to disturb her.

Legacy of Artistic Talent from Mom

Mom (Beverly) showed a natural artistic talent from an early age. She left us a legacy of art and art appreciation. Many of her grandchildren have shown a similar talent. Here is a picture she drew of Patty when she was about eight.

Honoring Beverly

It is September, the month of my mother Beverly's birthday. I would like honor Mom this year by inviting you all think of some of your favorite Beverly memories and post them here, to Grandma's blog. It's been 22 years since she passed away, but little time goes by without my remembering her essence; her bright intellect, her creativity, her artistry, her love for her children, her strength, especially through her illness, and her honesty.

I love you, Mom.

Love,
Gwen
